Welcome [FIRST NAME] to the first Fox International E-Newsletter of 2008, a year that promises to see the launch of some of our most innovative products ever!

There’s a real sense of excitement around Fox HQ at the moment. Over the past 12 to 18 months we have been working hard on some top-secret product launches in our constant quest to provide you with the best fishing tackle known to man. Early in 2008 you will see the Fox Stratos MAG reels go into the shops, quickly followed by the Fox Match MSB box (UK only) and then the awesome Horizon FX and SFD carp rods.

But, it doesn’t stop there because we have many amazing new product launches planned throughout 2008 - trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Many of you will have already seen the new-look Fox International website. Found at www.foxint.com the website now has a fresh, clean design with a whole host of new features to make your visit more interactive. As well as offering information on all Fox International products, including the chance to download our latest product brochures, you can now watch video clips starring some of Fox’s leading angling consultants. After more than three years in development, the first batch of the hugely anticipated Fox Stratos MAG reels are ready to hit the shops. Europe’s leading angling magazines are already claiming the reels to be the best Big Pit reels on the market, with a UK magazine called the Angler’s Mail claiming they ’set new exacting standards to which other manufacturers will have to aspire‘.

The two reels – FS12000 MAG which has a Freespool facility and 12000 MAG (non-Freespool) are both made from Magnesium to offer a super strong yet lightweight body. They also benefit from an amazing Supa-Slow Oscillation which helps achieve a perfect line lay on the spool – this means that line will glide off the spool on the cast helping you achieve distances you’ve only ever dreamt of! Other key features include Grit Guard to stop dirt and water entering the internal clutch compartments, a free spare spool, over-sized line roller plus loads more. After a mass of hype, we are pleased to announce that the Fox Horizon FX and SFD rod ranges are close to launch.

Both ranges benefit from Fox’s new FX reel seat. Developed by Fox’s team of CAD-designers, the FX seat has been ergonomically designed to aid comfort and grip. Expect other key features like a rippled handle, braid-friendly SLIKs guides, understated graphics and laser-etched butt caps!

The FX range has been designed to aid distance casting. Large diameter guides and a fast taper blank have both helped the likes of Ian Chillcott and Chris Rose achieve casts of over 200 yards!

The SFD range has been developed to be the ‘jack of all trades’ – rods that will cope with almost every carp angling situation, from distance casting through to margin fishing. This range also includes a spod and a marker rod.

It’s that time of the year again, the time when you’ll get your hands on the new Fox International Brochure. The 2008 offering has 212-pages, filled to the brim with all of our Carp and Specialist products.

New additions include the Stratos MAG reels, FX and SFD rods, a Signature Travel Series of rods from Bob James and a load of new domes. The brochure is available to download from the Fox website (www.foxint.com). UK anglers will get the brochure free with Total Carp (on-sale March 28), Carp-Talk (on-sale March 19) and CarpWorld (on-sale April 4), with a limited number of Advanced Carp Fishing magazines (on-sale May 12) also carrying the free brochure.

European anglers will get the brochure in De Karperwereld and subscription copies of Karper in The Netherlands, MediaCarpe in France, Pescare CarpFishing in Italy and CarpMirror and Carp in Focus in Germany.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Noorman as a carp consultant for Fox International.

Mark, from Zeist in The Netherlands, has been involved with Fox for many years through translation work and working on Fox stands at shows around Europe.

The 33 year-old IT consultant, a former board member of the Dutch Carp Study Group and a regular contributor to several Dutch angling magazines, will be involved in product development and helping promote Fox at shows and through magazine articles in The Netherlands and throughout Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark said: "I am both proud and highly motivated to help Fox forward in their product development and promotional activities. I have known most of the people I will be working with for many years and regard them as fishing friends. Because of that I have no doubt that this cooperation will last a long time."

Fox International tackle will help you catch more fish, but with the help of our vast range of instructional books and DVDs you’ll be catching more than you ever thought possible. And what’s even better is that we have products to suit all styles of fishing.

Recent new launches include Mark Pollard’s first Fox Match DVD. He takes an in-depth look at pole fishing on commercial waters, offers viewers essential information from buying the right pole, elasticating a pole through to his top carp lake rigs.

There are also two new predator DVDs in the range, both starring TV star and predator expert, Mick Brown – The Fox Guide to Gravel Pit Piking (2-disc) and the Fox Guide to Lure Fishing.

Sea fishing star Alan Yates has recently written his first Fox book. The Fox Guide to Modern Sea Angling: Shore edition, explains everything about sea angling, from the right tackle to buy, what bait to use, must-use rigs and an in-depth chapter on species.
