These are our eyes and ears on the bank, the team that come up with ground-breaking concepts and test products to destruction in pursuit of perfection.
The life of a Fox product starts in the minds of a Fox team member. These guys spend their whole lives on the bank, in a constant quest for ground-breaking new techniques and tackle concepts to aid their fishing. There are no better minds to develop the items of tackle we all take for granted today! But, where we really score over other tackle manufacturers, is with our team of experienced in-house CAD-designers.
The CAD-design department specialise in the development of fishing products, with experts covering key product groups such a reels, rods, pods, luggage and bite alarms. They are tasked with taking an idea and making it reality, using the latest design techniques and the very best materials available, to create the ultimate product. Where other companies opt for the easy and subsequently cheap option of 'picking a product off the shelf', Fox prides itself on innovation! It's only after many months of constant tweaking that we then hand over prototypes to our consultants. They are given months to use these products, tasked with finding any faults or improvements to further enhance the finished product. It's all well and good having a product that feels and performs well in an office environment, but the real test comes when a 40lb carp is pulling in the opposite direction in a fishing situation.
The on-the-bank testing procedure can last years - quite simply, if a product isn't right it doesn't go into production. It's only when the whole Fox team are happy that a product goes into production. The end results are what fill this 212-page Catalogue! The new Stratos MAG reels are the perfect example of how Fox products are born. The design process started three years ago, with our consultants and designers sitting around a table with a blank piece of paper, tasked with designing the best Bit Pit reel on the market. Thirty six months later the new reels - FS12000 MAG and 12000 MAG - finally went on-sale with magazine reviews claiming they 'set new standards to which other manufacturers will have to aspire'.
But, 2008 isn't all about the new reels. Take a flick through the catalogue and you'll see new Horizon FX and SFD rods, a Bob James Signature Series of travel rods, a new range of innovative domes plus loads of new accessories. However, product launches don't end there, because throughout 2008 Fox will be releasing more new and innovative products to help you catch more fish.
